Robert WK Clark's Workshop and Seminars

One’s artistic talent should not be wasted on one person.  One’s talent should be shared with the world.  Robert WK Clark is an outstanding artist who wants to cultivate his expertise and share it with others.  He wants budding artists and artists who want to hone their craft and nurture their skills to have access to his techniques: how he comes up with those masterpieces that are rich with detail and aesthetic balance.  With the future artist in mind, Robert WK Clark, aside from producing works of art, also conducts photography and lighting workshops to spread his mastery.  His workshops cater to beginners and professionals.  He conducts workshops anywhere in the country or overseas.  He conducts individualized sessions and group workshops.  Tutorials are focused on nude art, glamour or fashion.  To become an expert on such artistic fields, Clark offers his students the methods of lighting and camera techniques.  Enhancement techniques include Adobe Photoshop and digital retouching.  These are important artistic methods that Clark wants to impart to his students.  Moreover, all of his workshops are tailored to suit one’s skill level and interest.

Clark’s lessons on digital camera techniques allow one to navigate through technical roadblocks and that person to create fantastic works.  This is one of Clark’s workshops that tackle re-sizing and downloading images, the technicalities of resolution, archiving and file management, and output sources.  In such workshop, Clark imparts the techniques and methods on lighting, composition, creativity and lenses that enable the student and professional to see a different aspect of the world through the camera.  This teaches one to control image quality.  Adobe Photoshop is also important in a future shutterbug’s training.  Photoshop’s use comes handy for the user when images need further retouching, enhancement or compositing.  Knowing the basics of lighting, digital camera use, and digital image manipulation through Adobe Photoshop can spell the difference between artistry and mediocrity.

Before digitally manipulating the image, a student must be taught the essentials of lighting in an artistic setting.  In the techniques of lighting, Clark teaches his students on the use of flash to capture images of people, nature and everyday life.  In this workshop, students are taught the basics on remote flash operation (multiple and single units), fill flash, and methods to implement various light sources to produce amazing visual results.  Aside from mastering the flash or “portable sun,” one can learn to present his or her work through sequencing, editing, and conceptualizing a story to convey messages.  Other lighting topics include soft and hard light, making sunlight by artificial strobes, using filters to balance location lighting and other forms of lighting, and balancing dusk and dawn light with strobes.  Clark also is accomplished in the creation of landscapes as evidenced in his work.  He teaches others on the color techniques of landscaping, using black-and-white images and sepia images to accentuate his work.  This is a workshop that allows future artists to explore the technical and aesthetic aspects of landscapes in black-and-white.

Clark’s workshops address the need for photographic education to support students of all levels.  He wants his students to excel and teaches them the creative and technical aspects of capturing images.  He wants to share his artistic passion by providing an inspirational and supportive environment where his students can gain confidence in reaching their goals in artistic photography, both professionally and personally.  Clark can host a workshop anywhere. He is a master of his art and his versatility reaches to fashion photography, glamour and commercial projects. His work is not limited to his studio or various locations in New Mexico, although currently residing in Rio Rancho, a suburb of Albuquerque, NM. Located in the vicinity of the prestigious Santa Fe art colony, one of the largest art markets in the United States. He does travel a lot, and nevertheless would meet you at your preferred location. He loves to travel anywhere to any state or country as his client wishes. If one wishes for Clark to teach in their location a small group of participants can easily provide him with reasonable commission including travel expenses on a Per Diem basis, transportation, and accommodations. Beautiful models can also be provided in the tutorials, considering that the goal of a Clark workshop is to master the art of capturing the female body in a classy and tasteful manner.  Moreover, learning the techniques of Robert WK Clark’s artistry is as priceless as owning a Clark masterpiece.
